15 Bible Verses that Build Confidence in Kids

Bible verses that build confidence

The older I get, the more I realize that confidence was the missing ingredient through many seasons of my life. So I’m focusing more and more as my kids get older on ways to build their confidence so they can boldly pursue all that God has planned for them using their unique personalities and giftings.

Confidence will serve our kids well as they grow through life, in discovering their purpose and in developing good and rich friendships along the way.

Confidence will help our kids reach their full potential and it will cultivate kindness.

Because when we are sure of who we are and who we belong to, we can’t help but love well.

We’re talking about this in our back-to-school family Bible study, The Popularity Principle. But I wanted to dig deeper into the Word to highlight the truth our kids can stand on to build confidence in their lives.

Make sure you scroll all the way to the end of this post so you can download a copy of these Bible verses that build confidence. Print them out and post them where your child can read and be empowered with truth every day!

Bible Verses that Build Confidence in Kids

Psalm 139:13-14 ICB

You made my whole being. You formed me in my mother’s body. I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way. What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well.

Proverbs 3:3-6 NLT

Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Hebrews 4:16 NIV

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Isaiah 32:17 NLT

And this righteousness will bring peace. Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever.

Jeremiah 17:7 NLT

But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.

Philippians 1:6 NIV

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:13 NLT

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

Joshua 1:9 NLT

Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Psalm 27:1a NLT

The Lord is my light and my salvation – so why should I be afraid?

Ephesians 2:10 NLT

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Romans 8:28 NIV

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

2 Timothy 1:7 NLT

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline.

Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

1 Corinthians 16:13-14 NLT

Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love.

2 Corinthians 3:4-5 NLT

We are confident of all this because of our great trust in God through Christ. It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualifications come from God.
