Teach Your Kids It’s Okay to Stand Out!
Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will win favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation. Proverbs 3:3-4 NLT

Whether we send our kids out into the world of public or private school or we have the privilege of teaching them at home, our children can successfully navigate the relationships they encounter on a daily basis with God’s measuring stick as their guide.
Our need to be significant and liked is at the core of who we are, whether we are 3 or 43. When I was in my twenties, Proverbs 3:3-4 became my life verse as I grappled with the desire to be known and loved.
While it shouldn’t be our goal to be “popular”, this verse taught me the secret to being liked and admired by God’s standards. It’s a promise of relational prosperity that focuses our attention on the means (good character) not the end (popularity).

Rooted: Bible Studies for Growing Up Kids
We understand it can be challenging for families to find resources they can use with their kids of varying ages. What works for a 3 year old just simply doesn’t work for a child age 13+. And while I hope and pray our older kids learn to lead their younger siblings, I want the tools we provide here to meet kids where they are right now.
That’s the heart behind Rooted: Bible Studies for Growing Up Kids. Our Bible studies and devotionals are written primarily with kids age 6-10 in mind but include study extensions for older ones age 10+ (Dig Deeper) and little ones age 3-6 (Seeds of Character).
Rooted studies were designed to help all families gather together and grow in faith!
The best part is, our Rooted studies are FREE to subscribers of Gather & Grow! We release a new, simple study each season to help your family find a faith-building rhythm that works in the midst of your busy life.
With Rooted, your family Bible study time can be completed in as little as 10 minutes. Or you can linger in conversation or do the preschool activity together as a family. Keep it as simple or as in depth as you need for your unique schedule!
Each lesson follows our 5 & Thrive Bible Study Method and includes conversation starters plus a simple take-away that’s easy to remember, no matter your age! Print out the companion memory verse cards to refer back to throughout the week.
