3 Ways to Love on Your Spouse for Valentines

It’s February! And that means love is in the air. We’ll be sharing all about love this month on the blog {as well as a little bit about Lent as we prepare for Easter}. As we think through the month and how we’d like to show love to our family, I thought we should start with our spouses. Sometimes we get so focused on loving our kids {a worthy use of our hearts and minds} that we miss out on showering love on our life partner. I hope we can all stop and make an investment in our marriages this month. And I pray it will be the start of something wonderful that will last the whole year long.

3 Ways To Love On Your Spouse This Month

  1. Give Him a Break. This could be giving him a day to himself or simply taking out the trash for him. Whatever you feel would give your spouse a break, do it. Let him off the hook of responsibility for just a bit. Husbands, if you are reading this, the same goes for your wife. Give her a day out or one night a week the whole month that she doesn’t have to cook dinner.
  2. Cook His Favorite Meal/Treat. They say they was to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Go for it this month! Even if it’s something you don’t enjoy. Even if it intimidates you, cook your way to his heart this month. Husbands, offer to cook your wife her favorite meal. If cooking is not your forte, offer to be her sous chef as she directs you to prepare a meal to her delight.
  3. Plan a Day That’s Just About The Two of You. No kids. No responsibilities. A whole day of fun and freedom. Visit the zoo without the littles. Have a picnic at the park and play on the swings without having to push a small person for hours. Find a way to be carefree together in a setting that is all about the both of you and no one else!

The best gifts we can give the one we love are time, attention and focus. These gifts are not only valuable, they are free.

What are some unique ways you have found to love on your spouse?
